Q) What brought you to DoIT when you were a student? What is your role in DoIT today?

Working at the DoIT Tech Store seemed more engaging and exciting than most of the other jobs available to undergrads, such as working in food service. It also offered an extremely flexible schedule. My role today is the repair operations coordinator.

Q) How has the student employment helped you become who you are today?

DoIT offers a lot of professional development opportunities to students who show interest and are good workers. The amount of training that I received has helped me grow in areas such as customer service and organization.

Q) What did your typical work day look like?

A normal day at the Tech Store included completing transactions, providing sales consultations, organizing the store, and providing help desk support to help people with their computer troubles. It was also common to help full time staff with their projects such as helping out with SOAR.

Q) What brought you to DoIT when you were a student? What is your role in DoIT Today?

I came to DoIT Help Desk after leaving my job at Der Rathskeller simply because I needed a job and I heard that DoIT was pretty flexible. My role today is Operations and Queue Manager for Departmental Support.

Q) What would you say the perks are for working at DoIT?

First and foremost, work life balance. I can’t speak highly enough of how flexible all of my schedules have been. The next best thing is of course the people that work here. They are all so passionate, intelligent, and kind.

Q) What did your typical work day look like?

As a student, my typical work day was a combination of email, chat, and HDQA. I would often be problem solving, and in my down time I was able to do homework so I was always engaged and learning.
